TV2 proudly presents the MNU film festival, back for its second year. The MNU film festival is a unique event that allows students facility and alumni to show off their silver screen skills as they compete for recognition as the best. If you think you are up to the challenge, get your friends together and start making some movie magic for a chance to win fantastic prizes.


All videos are to be submitted online at  by November 15st.  If you do not have a Vimeo account you can sign up for one for free at their home page.  

To upload

Go to  and click on the upload tab at the top of the page. This will bring you to the Upload Your Video page.  Click on the Chose a Video to Upload button and select your video. Now click on Upload Selected Videos, this will bring you to a new page where you will see you video uploading. While your video is uploading you can enter the title of your video and a description in the Basic tab, be sure to click Save Changes before continuing. Now click on the Privacy tab and make sure to have the, Only people with a password, option selected under the, Who can watch this video heading. Enter a password and click save changes. Before leaving the privacy tab check to make sure that under the, What people can do with this video heading, the option Download the video is selected. Save changes. After video has completed uploading and processing watch your video to make sure it uploaded properly. Now you are ready to submit.

Be sure to include the title of your film and the category you would like it to be placed in (Narrative, Documentary Short, iPhone Film, Music Video, Short Short Film)



All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. The Festival will make no cuts or changes. All entrants will be notified by email. Winning films will be posted on our website. Please keep all content clean.


A festival jury will present awards to films and videos selected as best in category.


CATEGORIES FOR VIDEO SUBMISSION (all videos should be no more than six minutes in length)-


A film that tells a fictional story, event or narrative. Can be comedy, drama, action, horror, or any other genera.

Documentary Short

A non-fiction film chronicling an event, or telling the story of an individual or group.

iPhone Film

Any film, fiction or non-fiction, shot primary with an iPhone or mobile device. (Video must tell a story! No prank videos or AFV type videos.)

Music Video

A videotaped performance of a recorded popular or original song, accompanied by dancing and visual images interpreting the lyrics.

Short Short Film (60 seconds or less)

A film telling a complete story in the span of 60 seconds or less.



By entering your film for consideration for the 2012 MNU Film Festival, you authorize that

your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual

property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the 2013

MNU Film Festival, on and future TV2 promotions.
